Showcase serves three commercial functions: it builds platform credibility (the verified directory IS the credential), it powers sponsor-friendly investor discovery, and it generates paid Showcase placement opportunities for founders willing to invest in deeper editorial profiling.

Credibility asset

A verified directory of MENA startups is the asset sponsors pay to associate with. "Sponsored by X" on a sector report carries weight only because the directory backing it is verified.

Investor / partner discovery

Investors and accelerators use the showcase to find startups by sector + stage + country. Lead generation flows through the entity graph: an investor reading an editorial article clicks through to a startup, then to its founder.

Paid Showcase placement (Phase 2)

A founder can pay for a deeper editorial profile (sector spotlight, founder interview, traction case study). This is editorial work commissioned by the founder — NOT control over editorial body. Clearly labeled "Sponsored Showcase".
