The Mexican city of Monterrey is embracing the latest technological solutions to boost its security system for the 2026 World Cup matches. They're bringing in a unit of four-legged robotic dogs to handle security monitoring tasks both inside and around the stadiums. This move really shows a shift towards using artificial intelligence and autonomous systems to manage major events.

These robots will be operated remotely, meaning no direct human involvement in their field tasks. They'll be busy conducting continuous inspection tours, spotting any unusual movements or potential risks, and even sending live feeds to security teams. This setup allows for super-fast responses and reduces how much they rely on traditional patrols.

Monterrey will host matches at Estadio BBVA, one of Mexico's most prominent modern stadiums. It's one of the venues chosen to host several group stage matches during the tournament, which is set to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This will be the first time in the tournament's history that 48 teams will participate!

But Monterrey isn't the only city getting ready. Mexico's security plans also include other stadiums, most notably:
