Luma Unveils AI Agents to Streamline Video Production from Idea to Finish

Luma, the American company specializing in AI-powered video technologies, has announced the launch of a new platform called Luma Agents. This is a system of AI agents capable of managing the entire creative process for visual content production, from the initial idea all the way to the final video output.

The new platform relies on the company's proprietary Unified Intelligence model series. These are multimodal models trained on a unified system that can understand and process text, images, video, and audio simultaneously. This allows for more integrated and efficient management of creative operations compared to traditional tools.

Luma Agents primarily targets advertising agencies, design studios, and marketing teams within large corporations. These smart agents can plan, create, and manage content across various media. The system can also coordinate with other specialized AI models for video and audio generation, including Luma's own Ray 3.14 models, as well as Google's Veo 3 and Nano Banana Pro models, ByteDance's Seedream model, and audio technologies provided by ElevenLabs.

The agents operate based on the Uni-1 model, the first in the Unified Intelligence family. It has been trained to handle a wide range of inputs including text, audio, images, and video, alongside logical and spatial capabilities that enable the system to understand the creative context and transform ideas into integrated visual content.

In this context, Amit Jain, the company's CEO and co-founder, explained that the new model is capable of “thinking in human language and imagining, then directly converting ideas into images or visual content,” which he described as the concept of “intelligence in the pixel.” He added that audio and video capabilities will see further expansion in upcoming model releases.

The system relies on an advanced mechanism to maintain context across all elements of a creative project, including text, visual materials, and participants. This allows the smart agents to perform iterative self-reviews to assess and automatically improve the quality of outputs. According to the company, this mechanism helps accelerate the creative workflow and enhance the quality of the final production.

Examples of use cases demonstrated by the company highlight significant potential for reducing time and cost in content creation. Jain explained that the platform was able to transform an annual advertising campaign with a budget of approximately $15 million into a set of localized ads tailored for each country in just 40 hours, at a cost of less than $20,000, while maintaining quality standards and verifying content accuracy.

Luma has already begun offering the new platform to a number of its current clients, including global advertising agencies like Publicis Groupe and Serviceplan, along with major international companies such as Adidas and Mazda, and the Saudi AI-specialized company Humain.

The Luma Agents platform is currently available via an Application Programming Interface (API), with plans for gradual expansion of access to ensure service stability and avoid any potential impact on user workflows.

Jain believes that this technology represents a radical shift in how creative operations are managed within companies. It doesn't just provide assistive tools for production; it offers a new model based on intelligent agents capable of managing the entire content production cycle. With the accelerating development of multimodal AI models, these systems may become an essential component in the future of video production and digital advertising.
