Egypt and Global Partners Launch 'JISR' Initiative to Boost Cyber Resilience
Today, the 'JISR' conference was held, jointly organized by the Egyptian Public Prosecution, the Administrative Control Authority, and Microsoft. It saw participation from representatives of various national and international bodies, technology service providers, and major companies operating in the field both inside and outside Egypt. This event reflects the Public Prosecution's commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation to tackle the growing challenges of cybercrime. The conference discussed ways to enhance collaboration in fighting cybercrime and building a comprehensive framework that balances the demands of law enforcement with protecting digital infrastructure and supporting the business and investment environment. The conference also marked the official launch of the JECR – Joint Effort for Cyber Resilience 'JISR' initiative. This initiative aims to establish a practical partnership between the Public Prosecution, law enforcement agencies, and the technology sector to boost their ability to confront evolving cyber threats and sustainably support the concept of cyber resilience. The idea for this initiative stems from a successful collaboration between the Prosecution for Economic Affairs and Money Laundering, the Administrative Control Authority, and Microsoft. This partnership arose from a case involving an attack on Microsoft's tools and software, which ultimately led to an effective model for public-private sector integration. Following the conference, Jeff Bullwinkel, Microsoft's Vice President for Corporate, External & Legal Affairs for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, met with Counselor Mohamed Shawky, the Public Prosecutor. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in the upcoming phase, which truly shows all parties' dedication to building a robust system to counter cyber risks and protect the digital economy.
