Egypt Boosts Entrepreneurship to Drive Economic Growth and Create Jobs
Mohamed Farid, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, recently met with Basil Rahmy, the CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA). They discussed ways to boost support for entrepreneurship and make the most of the funding programs and non-financial services MSMEDA offers. Their talks really focused on how the Ministry and MSMEDA can work together even better to speed up the growth of the entrepreneurship sector. This sector is super important for Egypt's economy because it directly helps create more jobs, attract investments, boost productivity, and make the national economy more competitive. Farid emphasized that the Ministry, working through the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), is actively trying to connect with investment projects across various productive sectors. They want to link these projects with organizations that offer funding and non-financial services. This way, businesses can benefit more and have better chances to grow and last. Rahmy, on his part, stressed how crucial it is to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Investment. This partnership aims to really support the entrepreneurial environment and create the perfect conditions for launching and developing even more pioneering and innovative projects. It's also about opening up new avenues for young people to turn their great ideas into growing businesses.
