Nokia Pours $1 Billion into AI to Transform Global 5G Networks
Finland's Nokia has announced it's expanding its strategic partnerships with both TIM Brasil and Deutsche Telekom. This move aims to speed up how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in 5G networks, making them smarter and more efficient. This comes at a time when the telecom industry is seeing huge global changes thanks to the AI boom. Nokia's collaboration with TIM Brasil has also grown to include 14 additional states across four regions, moving beyond just updating the 5G network in São Paulo state. This expansion is expected to cover about 42% of Brazil's population, helping the operator offer smart, AI-powered services to businesses. This partnership also lets them use Nvidia's AI-RAN platforms, which helps companies implement smart solutions for data management and improve service quality in real-time. In Europe, Nokia has broadened its partnership with Deutsche Telekom to develop AI-powered Cloud and Open Radio Access Networks (RAN). This sets the stage for creating programmable and automated networks that can meet future connectivity demands and expand 5G services.
