Egyptian Cotton Festival Welcomes Entrepreneurs and Startups: Join the Event!

As part of the 'Egyptian Cotton Festival' initiative, sponsored by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) and Cairo Governorate, and in cooperation with the Egyptian Marketing Studies Foundation, Basil Rahmy, CEO of MSMEDA, announced the launch of a specialized exhibition for Egyptian cotton products from July 9 to 11.

Rahmy explained that organizing this festival aligns with the directives of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and Chairman of MSMEDA's Board of Directors, to expand support for industrial small and medium-sized enterprises. This includes providing all forms of financial and technical support and helping them with domestic marketing and international export.

Rahmy emphasized that the upcoming exhibition, to be held in July at MSMEDA's permanent exhibition grounds in Nasr City, welcomes all small and medium-sized enterprises manufacturing cotton products, designers, entrepreneurs, startup owners, innovators, and service, commercial, and production projects that use, manufacture, and market cotton. This includes, but is not limited to, areas such as spinning and weaving, clothing, home furnishings, supplying cotton raw materials, chemicals, and dyeing. It also targets owners of research and development centers and all related activities and projects.

The CEO noted that this major national event will significantly contribute to reshaping the image of Egypt's ancient and renowned cotton industry, showcasing its evolution while preserving its unique character and keeping pace with modern times. It aims to promote the industry appropriately in both local and global markets.

Rahmy added that this festival is expected to encourage Egyptian and foreign businesspeople to invest in this sector, leading to increased foreign investment. He continued:

"This festival is a preliminary step at the beginning of our journey to highlight our efforts in reviving this Egyptian industry, enhancing its competitiveness, and improving its quality, so that we can proudly raise the slogan '100% Egyptian Cotton' across various countries worldwide."

The festival will feature a variety of events, including sessions for international export, internal B2B contracts, contract manufacturing, business development workshops, fashion shows, and competitions to select the best designs. Participants will have great opportunities to benefit from experiences, expertise, and networking between small and large projects. It also provides a direct sales opportunity to the public.
