Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports, recently witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and "F&B Builders" company. This exciting partnership aims to support and boost the franchising and entrepreneurship industries. It's all part of the Ministry's preparations for the "Egypt Expo 2026" for Franchising and Entrepreneurship, which is set to kick off in the third quarter of this year.
General Ehab El-Bashir, the Ministry's Permanent Undersecretary, signed the protocol on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Representing "F&B Builders" was Mr. Ahmed El-Saadany, Chairman of the Board. The signing ceremony was attended by Ms. Manal Gamal, the Minister's Advisor for Youth Empowerment; Dr. Abdullah El-Bahhar, the Minister's Assistant for Marketing, Investment, and Commercial Rights; and several other Ministry leaders. Also present were Hussein El-Nazer, the company's Executive Director, and Khaled Keshk, Director of Development and Projects, alongside various experts, businesspeople, and brand owners from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Libya.
This protocol is a key part of the Ministry's efforts to empower Egyptian youth, aligning perfectly with Egypt's Vision 2030. It also follows President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to strengthen the national economy, with a special focus on promising sectors like franchising and entrepreneurship. The goal is to boost Egyptian exports by taking local brands to international markets, which will help bring in foreign currency and create thousands of job opportunities for young people.
The protocol aims to bring together the efforts of both the Ministry and the company to support Egypt's franchise industry and help this vital sector grow. They plan to do this by spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and franchising, fostering initiative and innovation among young people, and helping them establish successful small and medium-sized businesses. This can be achieved by acquiring franchise rights for major brands, which significantly reduces the high failure rates often seen in traditional business models. The franchise system offers invaluable experience, training, continuous technical and advisory support, plus the inherent strength and market reputation of an established brand.
Under the terms of the protocol, and with the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, the "Egypt Expo 2026" International Exhibition for Franchising and Entrepreneurship will be organized. This will be the largest event of its kind in Egypt, targeting markets across the GCC, Arab, and African regions. It will open up new horizons for Egyptian brands to expand locally, regionally, and internationally, while also attracting distinguished international brands. This initiative is expected to create significant economic activity, boost the exchange of expertise, foster economic cooperation, and improve trade balance figures.
