Egypt's Apparel Sector Gets a Boost with New $50M Smart Chinese Factory

A new $50 million smart apparel factory from China's Chi Sag Group is set to open in Suez, Egypt. This state-of-the-art facility will feature 120 digital production lines, aiming to produce 25 million pieces of sportswear annually. The Suez Public Free Zone in Ataqa recently saw the groundbreaking for a new, advanced smart digital apparel factory, a $50 million investment. This factory will use the latest smart manufacturing techniques and eco-friendly green technology, showing a fast move towards blending industry with innovation and sustainability.

This project, led by China's Chi Sag Group, is a fantastic example of modern manufacturing. It relies on fully integrated digital production systems and solutions that produce low carbon emissions. This really boosts the idea of clean industry and supports Egypt's shift towards a more sustainable economy in North Africa.

Yang Herong, Chairman of the Group, emphasized that this factory is a complete industrial hub focused on smart manufacturing, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Its goal is to create a modern apparel production base that serves both regional and international markets.

The project spans 115,000 square meters and involves a $50 million investment. It will feature 120 digital sewing production lines, capable of producing up to 25 million pieces of sportswear annually. This venture is expected to create around 5,000 direct job opportunities, with the potential to grow to over 10,000 jobs across its various operational phases.

The factory will use low-carbon construction methods, smart production lines powered by digitalization, and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. This approach balances operational efficiency with environmental sustainability, covering four main sectors: textiles, apparel, new energy, and automotive safety.

He also pointed out that the project aims to be a leading model for economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and China. It will help develop Egyptian industry and support the local economy in Suez Governorate, leveraging the Group's advanced industrial and technological expertise.

Finally, he concluded that the factory is a strategic step within the "Belt and Road" initiative. It makes the most of Egypt's geographical location as an industrial and logistical hub connecting the Mediterranean and Red Sea markets, while also pushing the apparel industry towards more digital advancement and industrial innovation.
