Egypt Launches Mobile Tech Centers for Easier Citizen Services
The Egyptian government has launched its Mobile Technology Centers project. This initiative aims to provide document authentication services to citizens, working alongside the existing fixed "Egypt Services" centers located across various governorates. This project is a key part of the state's plan to improve government services and achieve digital governance. It's all about making it easier, faster, and more efficient for citizens to access these essential services. Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Expatriate Affairs, explained that these mobile centers are part of a broader strategy to enhance consular services. The goal is to reduce crowds and speed up the authentication process, ensuring everything meets high standards of quality and efficiency. He emphasized that this project will help extend these services to a wider range of geographic areas. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, added that this project is part of her ministry's efforts to modernize government services. This is being done through the Spatial Information Infrastructure Center, by expanding automated services, and by ensuring there's a qualified workforce to guarantee top-notch service quality. This initiative is actually part of a larger program to roll out mobile technology centers throughout Egypt. By the end of March, 276 mobile centers had already been delivered out of a target of 326. Specifically, 198 centers are for various government entities, and 78 are part of the "Egypt Services" project. The main goals are to improve service quality, reduce congestion, and boost citizen satisfaction.
