Amazon Egypt Shares 4.3 Million Meals to Support Families This Ramadan
Amazon Egypt has continued to boost its community impact during the holy month of Ramadan. They've done this by expanding their initiatives to support food security, working closely with the Egyptian Food Bank and Share El Basma Foundation. Since the start of the month, the company has helped provide over 4.3 million meals to families most in need, making sure to reach underserved communities across various governorates. These initiatives are a key part of Amazon's commitment to social responsibility. They aim to make a real difference by using their operational and logistical strengths, and by involving their dedicated employee volunteers in packing and distributing meals. This truly shows the company's dedication to supporting families all over Egypt during this special month. **"Tekyet El Mahrousa" Initiative** Amazon, in partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank, launched the "Tekyet El Mahrousa" initiative. This is a mobile kitchen that delivers hot, high-quality meals to families who need them most. It reaches six neighborhoods in Cairo, distributing 11,000 meals. This mobile kitchen makes it possible to deliver food directly to the target communities, ensuring that food support arrives on time and very efficiently. **"Mobile Iftar" Program** As part of its ongoing commitment, Amazon continued its "Mobile Iftar" program in collaboration with the Share El Basma Foundation. This year, the program aims to provide 400,000 meals to families most in need across the entire country. Since its launch, this initiative has delivered over 3.4 million meals to hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries. It relies on the company's operational capabilities and the hard work of its employee volunteers to create a positive and lasting impact. **Annual Ramadan Box** Among its Ramadan initiatives, Amazon Egypt also launched its annual Ramadan Box. Each box contains 6.3 kg of essential food items, including rice, sugar, oil, lentils, pasta, fava beans, and tea. Customers can send these boxes directly to families in need or to charities. This initiative truly reflects the culture of giving and community solidarity that the company strives to promote. Nadine Aboul Gheit, Head of Community Impact at Amazon Middle East and Turkey, emphasized that these initiatives highlight the company's commitment to broadening its impact and reaching the families who need help the most. She also stressed the vital role of employee volunteers in making these community programs successful and achieving a tangible, lasting impact across the country. Through these efforts, Amazon Egypt confirms that teamwork and strategic partnerships can transform the month of Ramadan into a powerful platform. It's a platform for boosting food security, supporting families most in need, and strengthening the values of social solidarity within Egyptian society.
