The National Social Insurance Authority is getting ready to kick off a new phase in its digital transformation journey! All the technical, organizational, and operational preparations are complete for launching the first stage of its brand-new digital system. This exciting launch will make 40 electronic services available to citizens through one easy-to-use platform, showing Egypt's commitment to developing and improving government services.
Major General Gamal Awad, the head of the Authority, highlighted that this digital system is a huge leap forward in how social insurance services are delivered. He also mentioned that the plan is to gradually expand these online services, with another 55 services to be added within six months of the initial launch. This will bring the total number of digital services to about 95, covering most interactions citizens and business owners have with the Authority.
Awad explained that the new system uses the latest digital transformation tools. A key feature is the activation of electronic signatures and timestamps to verify transactions, along with partnerships with several financial institutions to implement a complete electronic payment and collection system. This integrated approach will help cut down service completion times, boost security and transparency, and reduce the need for paper transactions.
This announcement came during a meeting led by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, who was checking on the progress of the Social Insurance Authority's digital transformation project and reviewing the final preparations for the system's official launch. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that improving the Authority's performance is a top priority for the state, especially given its vital role in providing insurance and pension services to millions of citizens. He stressed that the government would provide full support to ensure the project's success and sustainability.
In this context, Major General Gamal Awad outlined the project's features. He explained that the new digital system aims to apply institutional governance standards, digitize work procedures, and separate the service recipient from the provider. This will enhance integrity and improve performance quality. The system also focuses on expanding digital service offerings and innovating new solutions to improve the citizen experience, alongside regularly monitoring the system's performance and measuring efficiency indicators.
Dr. Maya Morsy, for her part, affirmed that the Social Insurance Authority's digital transformation project is one of Egypt's priority national projects. She noted that significant efforts have been made to reach this stage, ensuring that citizens receive insurance and pension services quickly and with simplified procedures. She also pointed out that electronic linking with various relevant entities has already been completed, which supports data integration and improves service delivery efficiency.
The launch of the first phase of the Social Insurance digital system clearly shows a strong move towards modernizing government services, boosting financial inclusion, and improving the quality of services offered to citizens. This is all part of a bigger vision to build a more efficient and transparent digital government.
