Language & RTL Rules
Arabic typography
Arabic typography — documentation pending.
Complete
Arabic letterforms read denser per character than Latin. The type tokens auto-adjust under `[dir="rtl"]` — slightly tighter clamp() ladder, increased leading on body, larger title clamp on Founder Files. Do not author per-page AR overrides.
Type adjustments applied under [dir="rtl"]
- .t-hero-h1
- EN clamp(2rem, 1.5rem + 2.8vw, 3.75rem). AR clamp(2.25rem, 1.7rem + 2.8vw, 4rem) — larger floor + ceiling because Arabic glyph height is taller.
- Body line-height
- EN 1.6. AR 1.7-1.75 to compensate for descender-less Arabic glyphs that look compressed at LTR leading.
- Founder File titles in AR
- Larger clamp specifically for Founder File card titles — `text-lg sm:text-xl` in AR vs `text-base sm:text-lg` in EN. Reflects the editorial value of the title.
- .t-meta in AR
- Stays mono uppercase Latin even in AR contexts. Eyebrow / chip text is never translated into Arabic when it carries technical labels (e.g. SECTOR / STAGE).
Arabic microcopy rules
- Use Modern Standard Arabic for editorial body; conversational Arabic acceptable in microcopy when editorial voice calls for it.
- Punctuation: use Arabic comma `،` and Arabic question mark `؟`. Western `,` and `?` are wrong in Arabic prose.
- Brand names stay in their original script. "Paymob" stays "Paymob" in AR (with optional `name_ar` editorial variant when authored).
- Loanwords are integrated, not transliterated mechanically. "startup" → "شركة ناشئة" (concept-mapped), not "ستارتب" (sound-mapped).
