Egypt's Supply Ministry and Microsoft Team Up to Power Digital Services with AI

To speed up digital transformation and build a knowledge-based economy, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Egypt's Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, met with officials from global tech giant Microsoft. They discussed ways to work together on improving the ministry's technology infrastructure and enhancing the supply services offered to citizens. During the meeting, they explored how to use the latest digital solutions, especially in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data analytics. The goal is to better support decision-making and improve how the subsidy and supply goods systems are managed. This will help make databases more accurate and sustainable, while also boosting operational efficiency within the system. Egypt's Supply Minister emphasized that the ministry is fully committed to the nation's comprehensive digital transformation strategy. He noted that collaborating with major global tech companies is key to updating work methods, increasing transparency, and improving institutional performance. This directly leads to better quality services for citizens and makes them faster and easier to access. He also pointed out that this partnership will help develop the oversight and monitoring system by using advanced digital tools. This will contribute to tighter resource management, better market control, and achieving higher levels of operational efficiency. For its part, Microsoft reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Egypt's digital transformation efforts. They plan to do this by providing cutting-edge technological solutions, sharing global expertise, and building digital capabilities for government staff. This aligns perfectly with the current phase and the rapid adoption of smart technologies. The meeting was attended by several Microsoft leaders, including Naeem Yazbek and Myrna Aref, alongside key officials from the Ministry of Supply who are focused on digital transformation and smart services. This collaboration is part of a broader government push to build a fully integrated digital system for public services. This system will rely on data and smart technologies to boost government efficiency, support sustainable development goals, and ultimately improve citizens' quality of life through more accurate and flexible services.
