Egypt's Senate Recommends AI Clubs for Youth to Boost Digital Skills, Starting in Assiut

In an exciting move aimed at sharpening the digital talents of Egyptian youth, the Education, Scientific Research, Communications, and Information Technology Committee of the Senate has recommended establishing Artificial Intelligence (AI) clubs within youth centers across the country. The pilot program is set to kick off in Assiut Governorate. This initiative clearly shows a vision to boost young people's abilities in modern technology and connect them with the digital job market.

National Expansion

Walaa Hermas, a member of the committee, suggested starting the project in Assiut. This is because the governorate has a lot of promising young talent, and the goal is to turn their ideas and skills into digital projects that can grow and expand. If the pilot is successful, the committee plans to roll out the clubs to other governorates, creating a complete model that combines tech training with an innovative environment.

Club Goals

The club will focus on discovering young talent and refining their digital skills by developing their abilities in: Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, programming languages and electronic game development, data analysis and digital entrepreneurship, and freelancing through international platforms.

The club also aims to be a hub for ideas and practical application, empowering young people to compete both locally and internationally. It will provide a comprehensive environment, including training rooms, specialized labs, and innovation spaces for teamwork.

Technology at the Heart of the Experience

These clubs won't just be about theory. They'll integrate modern technology into sports facilities, making playgrounds "smart" and connecting devices and applications with AI to support hands-on learning and practical training. Specialized labs will also be set up to boost the practical side, transforming youth centers into innovative educational platforms that help shape a new generation of creators.

Project Impact on Youth

This project is a strategic step to support Egyptian youth and encourage digital innovation, which will boost their contribution to both the local and global digital economy. It aligns with government policies focused on integrating technology into all social and economic sectors, especially in Upper Egypt, where tech opportunities are relatively limited. This makes Assiut a great example for launching national initiatives that can be replicated later on.
